Abstract:Some HIV-seropositive (HIV+) individuals develop clinically significant cognitive impairment that in some cases progresses to dementia. The pattern of deficits observed is variable, but among the most prominent are motor and psychomotor slowing, attention and executive deficits, and inefficient learning. The neural basis for this heterogeneity is poorly understood.
