Publication Abstract Display | Type: Poster | Title: Clinical risk factors identify seronegative HCV co-infection in substantial minority of CHARTER participants. | Authors: Bharti AR, Letendre S, Wolfson T, Clifford D, Collier A, Gelman B, McArthur J, McCutchan A, Morgello S, Grant I | Date: 10-2009 | Abstract:Summary and Conclusions
• SN-HCV is associated with a history of IDU, elevated ALT,
low platelets, black race, and undetectable HIV RNA.
• The composite RF score may be a clinically useful
method for selecting patients for HCV-RNA testing.
• SN-HCV prevalence varied by site prevalence of
seropositive HCV.
• Participants with SN-HCV had worse neuropsychological
performance than those with HIV alone.
• Our findings, after validation in an unselected cohort, will
help focus screening for SN-HCV in those at highest risk. |
