They also performed better on a measure of premorbid IQ despite equivalent education.
These findings may support the theory that superior memory in older adults reflects higher cognitive reserve; however, studies with larger sample sizes must be conducted in order to explore this possibility further.
Future studies should also explore longitudinal outcomes and examine these relationships in a more diverse sample. |
