Impaired NP has been hypothesized to impact a patients ability to adhere to medication regimens
and contribute to the development of drug resistance (DR). Alternatively, DR mutations may
decrease viral fitness and pathogenicity and, there- fore, protect against NP impairment. The
objective of this study was to determine the association between DR and NP among HIV-infected
