An analysis of blind, clinical impairment ratings based, in par t, on the NP scores showed that from a sample of 620 HIV+ subjects, 71% of African Americans were rated impaired, as compared to 38% of the Caucasian group. The application of NP norms developed for African Americans reduced the percent HIV+ African Americans rated impaired to 44%. |
