Abstract:This study investigated the construct validity of the Abbreviated Assessment of Intentional Memory (AAIM; Raskin et al., 2004), a novel measure of prospective memory (ProM). Forty-one healthy individuals averaged 38.4 (12.4) years of age and 14.6 (2.24) years of education completed the AAIM in addition to standard neuropsychological tests selected from the larger battery. Findings revealed significant relationships between better AAIM performance and younger age, as well as better performance on validated clinical measures of ProM, executive functions, and retrospective memory. Collectively, these findings provide preliminary support for the construct validity of the AAIM as a putative measure of ProM.
